Zhengzhou, August 29, 2024 — On August 28, a tower crane collapsed at a construction site near Lijiang Road in Erqi District, Zhengzhou, drawing widespread attention. Multiple netizens reported the incident on social media, sharing videos from the scene. Footage showed the collapsed tower crane striking a building, shattering multiple glass panels and leaving visible impact marks on the walls.

In response, staff from the Erqi District Education Bureau in Zhengzhou and the school involved promptly addressed the incident. An Education Bureau representative stated that personnel arrived at the scene immediately after the incident to handle the situation, confirming no casualties resulted. The location occurred within a construction zone, not the school's teaching area. As students had not yet been dismissed at the time, no individuals within the school were affected.

Local residents and parents stated that they only learned of the crane collapse on the evening of the 28th.
