Super Typhoon Connie Makes Landfall in Taiwan; Multiple Regions Respond with Emergency Measures
According to the Central Meteorological Administration, Super Typhoon Connie, the 21st typhoon of the year, made landfall in Chenggong Township, Taitung County, Taiwan on the afternoon of October 31. With maximum sustained winds reaching Category 15 (48 meters per second), it is the strongest typhoon to hit Taiwan in the past decade. The typhoon is expected to cross Taiwan and enter the Taiwan Strait, gradually weakening in intensity.

Response Measures in Multiple Regions
Taiwan:
All 22 counties and cities across Taiwan have suspended work and classes. The meteorological department advises residents to minimize outdoor activities and prioritize safety.
Fujian:
In response to the typhoon's impact, railway authorities suspended operations on multiple lines including Fuping and Wenfu from October 31 to November 1. Fifty-one coastal passenger ferry routes were also suspended. Pingtan scenic areas closed starting the afternoon of October 30, with tourists advised to stay away from coastal areas.
Zhejiang:
Zhejiang Maritime Safety Administration has initiated a Level III emergency response for typhoon preparedness. Currently, 45 waterborne passenger ferry routes have suspended operations, and 62 water-related construction projects have been halted. Railway authorities have implemented service suspensions on certain high-speed rail lines from October 31 to November 1.
Shanghai:
Starting the evening of October 31, Shanghai's riverside and coastal areas will experience gusts reaching force 7 to 8 on the Beaufort scale, with conditions expected to intensify further on November 1. Railway authorities have implemented temporary service suspensions and adjustments for trains on certain routes.
Hainan:
Due to the lingering effects of Typhoon Trami, heavy rainfall persists in Hainan, with 16 rivers exceeding warning levels. Several expressways have been flooded, prompting emergency rescue operations in multiple locations.

Typhoon Connie may break multiple records, with forecasts indicating it will bring heavy rainfall and strong winds to eastern China. Relevant authorities urge the public to stay updated on warning information.
