At approximately 8:40 a.m. on November 27, a construction accident occurred in Bazhou District, Bazhong City, Sichuan Province. A cement mixer truck caused a road collapse during operations, resulting in a construction worker falling into a pit approximately 6 meters deep. Upon receiving the alert, the Bazhong City Fire and Rescue Brigade promptly rushed to the scene to conduct rescue operations.

Upon arrival, rescue personnel discovered the tanker truck overturned on the sidewalk, with its rear wheels having caved in to form a large pit approximately 3 meters in diameter. Investigations revealed that the trapped individual had fallen to the bottom of the pit along with the collapsed concrete floor. Their exact location remained unclear, and no cries for help were audible. Rescue efforts faced significant challenges as the pit's bottom was covered by concrete, soil, and debris.

Firefighters equipped with specialized rescue gear descended to the bottom of the pit. After approximately 30 minutes of clearing operations, they successfully located the trapped individual. To stabilize the person's emotional state, rescuers continuously provided reassurance while collaborating with medical personnel to administer initial treatment. Fortunately, the trapped individual's vital signs remained stable.

After seven hours of intense rescue efforts, firefighters successfully extracted the trapped individual and immediately transported them to the hospital for treatment. The cause of the accident is currently under further investigation.

This incident serves as another reminder that construction sites must strengthen safety management to prevent similar accidents from occurring.
