At 11:07 a.m. on December 10, 2024, a fire broke out at the Kangshun Starch Factory in Nankang Town, Tieshan Port District, Beihai City, Guangxi. The blaze is suspected to have been triggered by an accident during production. Following the fire, thick smoke billowed from the site, creating a scene that was deeply distressing.

Upon receiving the report, the Tieshan Port District promptly activated its emergency response mechanism, coordinating a joint rescue effort involving multiple departments including firefighting, emergency management, health, and public security. Fire and rescue teams rushed to the scene immediately to conduct firefighting and search-and-rescue operations. After intense firefighting efforts, the blaze was successfully extinguished that afternoon, posing no further threat to nearby residents or the environment.

According to the on-site command center, the fire resulted inone person being injured. The victim was promptly transported to Beihai People's Hospital for treatment and is currently in stable condition with no life-threatening injuries. Fortunately, no fatalities were reported in the incident.  

The local government stated that an accident investigation team has been established to conduct a comprehensive inquiry into the specific cause of the fire. Concurrently, efforts will be intensified to strengthen safety production oversight, urging enterprises to strictly implement safety production responsibilities to prevent similar incidents from recurring.

Residents in the area where Kangshun Starch Factory is located expressed gratitude for the swift response and effective handling of the fire rescue operation. One local resident stated: "Firefighters arrived very quickly, and the fire was brought under control promptly. We feel much more at ease now."

Relevant departments in Tieshan Port District remind the public that winter is a high-risk season for fires. Particular attention should be paid to fire, electrical, and gas safety in factories, warehouses, and similar facilities to eliminate potential hazards and create a safer production and living environment for society.
