At 14:46 on December 11, 2024, a fire broke out in a high-rise residential building within Phase II of Yuefu Residential Complex in Yuehai Subdistrict, Nanshan District, Shenzhen. Upon receiving the alert, the Shenzhen Fire and Rescue Brigade promptly dispatched personnel to the scene for emergency response. Preliminary investigations indicate the fire originated near Unit C on the 28th floor and was triggered by a gas explosion. The specific cause remains under further investigation.
Fire and rescue personnel stated that following the incident,open flames on floors 27 to 29 have been extinguished, but fire continues to spread on the 30th floor. To prevent further spread, firefighters have established containment points on the 31st floor and are continuing firefighting operations. As of now, four residents have been successfully evacuated, all conscious and in stable condition.

According to eyewitness accounts, burnt fabric fell from the floor where the fire started, followed by a person falling from a high floor. The injured individual has been transported to the hospital byan ambulance. Following the incident, the property management company, Shenzhen China Resources Property Management Co., Ltd., promptly intervened to assist firefighters with investigation and evacuation efforts.
The fire has once again sounded the alarm on gas safety in high-rise residential buildings. Fire authorities remind citizens to regularly inspect gas appliances, promptly identify potential hazards, and ensure safe gas usage to prevent similar incidents. The cause of the fire and extent of damage are currently under further investigation.
