At approximately 11:40 a.m. today, a major traffic accident occurred on the G244 National Highway at the K1284+029 section in Enyang District, Bazhong City. According to a report from the Enyang District Branch of the Bazhong Municipal Public Security Bureau, a heavy-duty dump truck belonging to Dazhou Tianyou Logistics Co., Ltd. lost control at a traffic light intersection and collided with multiple vehicles waiting to proceed ahead.

The accident resulted in four fatalities at the scene, with one additional person succumbing to injuries during rescue efforts. One individual sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment at the hospital. Additionally, the incident caused varying degrees of damage to 12 vehicles, leaving the scene in disarray.

Following the incident, local public security, firefighting, and medical departments promptly arrived at the scene to initiate rescue and response operations. Currently, follow-up work is being carried out in an orderly and efficient manner, while the specific cause of the accident remains under further investigation.

According to preliminary information, the driver of the involved truck, Jiang Dong, is a 33-year-old male from Dazhou City. Relevant authorities have taken Jiang Dong into custody and are conducting a comprehensive investigation into his driving conduct and the technical condition of the truck.
