At 09:07 on April 21, 2025, a magnitude 4.6 earthquake struck Zaduo County, Yushu Prefecture, Qinghai Province, with a focal depth of 10 kilometers. The epicenter was located at 32.56 degrees north latitude and 93.46 degrees east longitude. The China Earthquake Networks Center promptly released the findings via its official Weibo account, with multiple mainstream media platforms simultaneously reposting the report. As of now, no casualties or significant property damage have been reported across major media outlets.

The Yushu region lies within the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau fault zone, characterized by frequent geological activity. Historically, the area experienced a powerful 7.1-magnitude earthquake on April 14, 2010, resulting in 2,698 fatalities and 12,135 injuries. Post-disaster reconstruction efforts remain ongoing.
