A 4.1-magnitude earthquake struck Qingchuan County, Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province.
The China Earthquake Networks Center has officially determined that a magnitude 4.1 earthquake occurred at 13:08 on April 28, 2025, in Qingchuan County, Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province (32.76°N, 105.49°E). The focal depth was 14 kilometers, with no casualties reported so far. The epicenter was located near the Wenchuan-Pingwu Fault Zone, marking the region's strongest tremor since the 5.4-magnitude earthquake on September 5, 2017. Significant shaking was felt in surrounding counties and districts, prompting seismic authorities at all levels to initiate on-site monitoring and emergency response procedures.

Qingchuan County is located at the northern edge of the Sichuan Basin, adjacent to the Wenchuan-Pingwu Fault Zone. The epicenter of this earthquake was located approximately 15 kilometers southeast of Qingchuan County seat, near the boundary between Yaodu Town and Changba Township, at geographical coordinates 32.76°N, 105.49°E. This fault zone forms part of the Longmenshan Fault System and remains an active zone for aftershocks of the Wenchuan earthquake and regional stress redistribution.
